SO! This is my second Laneway!
Better, bigger venue (srsly the background of the stage is jawsome!), worse sunburnt and hangover lol
It started with King Of Convenience, which turned out pretty nice humming to their songs whilst having lunch, been a while. Then Poliça’s turn, pretty resembled Chairlift last year, so underrated. Then I slept through Cloud Nothing (so noisy but I fell asleep anyway), Divine Fits (they were so cool), Of Monsters And Men (posers galore), and Japandroid (their music is not a good pair with the weather, made me cranky).
Nicolas Jaar was one of the highlights! His music was so transcendental. And another surprise for me was Kimbra! She performed so whimsical and energetic she couldn’t control her face lol
Real Estate was another favorite, then came Alt-J and they totally killed it! Then came Yeasayer and I knew it was going to be so cool and it really was!
Then it was time for Bat For Lashes, the main reason I came here. It was magical. LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER.
Tame Impala was next, another trippy moment with them and I skipped Gotye because my friend was too wasted to continue.
Overall it was fun but didn’t top the previous year. Hopefully next year lineup will be more wicked 🙏 – View on Path.
